First Baptist Church of Avon Park

The Lord's Supper is a sacred practice wherein the gathered community partakes of bread and wine (juice). These simple elements visually represent and convey the reality of Christ's broken body and shed blood. When partaking of the Lord's Supper, believers show their faith in the gospel, their love for Christ, and the fellowship with his body, the local church.

Who is Invited to the Lord's Table?

The Lord’s table is for those, and those only, who are trusting in Jesus Christ and have professed that faith through Believer's Baptism. So we invite to this table, the Lord’s table, all those who trust in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation as He is offered in the Gospel and who have joined themselves to the body of Christ, His Church through baptism. If you are not a believer in Christ who has identified yourself with His church, don’t come to the table. Rather, wait, think, pray, repent, and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Parents will want to instruct children who have not yet made a public profession of faith and expressed that through Believer's Baptism should not partake of the elements as they are passed.
